KOTM at León Guanajuato, México.

So I Decided to get back on the Tournament Horse and it hasn’t been easy, but it’s been fun as hell. Last year I took a bad fall due to a takedown in a tournament and to be honest I wasn’t feeling like compreting, but our since last trip to Irapuato things got pretty fun and ofcourse my friends insisted I went with them to León to compete at KOTM… So I thought, why not.

Since we were around 12 this time, we decided to rent a house with airbnb, which was great because we got to spend a lot more time together, I was just 1Kg over the weight limit, so I had to visit the steam room one day before traveling to be in weight, on friday when we left I had minimal water and sticked to light meals, It was truly more of a mental thing that a weight cut but I got trough. We barely made it to the weight in one night before the tournament so we could have dinner, a lot of us weren’t gonna make it, LOL. I weight in at 52.5 Kg being the limit and my usual weight 53.

After that we went taco hunting and found a great place nearby, we actually filmed a review if you want to check it out, its at our gyms facebook page @Bujutsutv. After dinner we caught up with the rest at the house and it was a pretty quiet night since everybody was in their tournament prep-game-thing.

The next day we all got up early and did our own thing, some had breakfast, other didn’t. Then we all walked together to the tournament; I must say it’s one of the nicest- most well organized tournaments I’ve attended, everyone was on time, we didn’t have to wait forever to be called, it was very nice… I wrestled Gi and NoGi and I didn’t do very bad, ended up in 3rd place Gi, and 2nd place Nogi. But more than that, I think it was great to have done it with friends, there was a lot of support and love during the tournament.

Afterwards we went back to the house to celebrate, we bought a ton of food and beer and had fun, I went to bed around 2 or 3… but others stayed up all night. The next morning we went coffee hunting, had breakfast and drove back home. Its a 5 hour drive and it was insanely tiring… But worth it!

I definitely think the team is tighter than ever and there’s still a lot more to come.
